Melissa Connelly has a diverse work experience in the field of child and family services. Melissa started their career as a Children and Family Services Social Worker and Supervisor in Contra Costa County in 1998 and worked there until 2008. Following that, they joined the University of California, Berkeley as a Training and Curriculum Specialist for the In-Service Training Project. In 2014, they became the Director of In-Service Training at CalSWEC. Melissa then transitioned to the City and County of San Francisco - Human Services Agency, where they held the positions of FCS Program Manager for Workforce Development and FCS Program Director. Melissa served in these roles from 2017 until 2023, when they joined CFPIC - Child & Family Policy Institute of California as an Associate Director. Throughout their career, Melissa also served as a Board Member for Bay Area Girls Rock Camp.
Melissa Connelly earned a BA in French from Tulane University in 1989. Melissa then pursued an MA in Sociology at The University of Memphis from 1989 to 1991. Later, they obtained an MSW in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley from 1996 to 1998.
