Sophie Sirtaine

Sophie Sirtaine has a diverse work experience spanning several prestigious organizations. Sophie is currently the Chief Executive Officer at CGAP, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this, Sophie worked at the Independent Evaluation Group from July 2016 to January 2022, serving as the Director of Strategy and Operations.

Before joining the Independent Evaluation Group, Sophie worked at The World Bank for a significant period. From July 2013 to July 2016, they served as the Country Director for the Caribbean. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Corporate Reform and Strategy from July 2012 to July 2013. Sophie began their career at The World Bank in June 1999 as the Sector Manager for Finance and private sector development in Europe and Central Asia, a position they held until June 2012.

Sophie's early career also includes their time at JP Morgan, where they worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking division, specifically in M&A and Financial Institutions Group (FIG). Sophie held this role from 1993 to 1999, based at JP Morgan's London office.

Sophie Sirtaine obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Commercial Engineering, specializing in Business Administration, from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. Sophie pursued further education at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics.
