With over 24 years of experience, Denise Colletti is a well-seasoned Financial Controller Expert and Consultant infusing people, technology & leadership and currently serves on the Global Council of the CGIA Institute.
The various positions occupied through her career as she worked in several industries gave her a remarkably broad base of experience in Expenses and Inventory Management, Forensic Financial Research, Financial Reporting/ P&L, Data Management/Reporting, Strategic Planning, Negotiations, and Team Building/Training. Her areas of expertise include IT Reporting Liaison, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, Data Streamlining, Sage Timberline, JD Edwards, AS 400, and Acquity, among others.
Denise is an outstanding leader and a creative thinker with proven ability in maximizing sustainable growth and profit of organizations through achievements in financial management, cost containment and internal controls.
She started her professional career in 1994 at Sigma Restoration in New York, NY, as an Accountant. As the President and Owner of DMC Studios, LLC since 2001, Denise Colletti deals with private, public and non-profit companies as a Controller Consultant to operate, restructure and implement a wide range of financial research, accounting practices, data reporting and expense management with a focus on highlighting revenue liabilities and opportunities.
She was hired as a consultant by a high-end award-winning interior design firm ACA Inc. where she contributed to a decreased of $250K in expenses by developing in-house accounting system and eliminating accounting outsourcing. When Vercuity/MSS Group decided to hire her services to prepare MSS Group acquisition by Vercuity, she discovered $230K in unreported/uncollected invoicing by revamping accounts payables and receivables. She also served as a Controller Consultant and Advisor to Director at ADP Securities (Jersey City, NJ). In this capacity, she was Responsible for improving Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) implementation, performed testing for over $60M in assets and saved $500K by uncovering software issues/defaults/procurement issues.
Galaxy Towers (Guttenberg, NJ) hired her as controller to prepare for restructuring, exposed over $1M in uncollected fees and collected $480K of these fees. While at Faram US Inc. (New York, NY) (Parent Co. in Giavera, Italy) as the Financial Controller, she saved over $125K in six months by reporting unseen variances and collected $155K of uncollectable invoices. Moreover, she performed as Controller of Hilton Hotel Times Square (New York, NY) where she audited the payroll and saved $50K in surfacing ghost employees.
Denise has been a member of the New York State Society of Chief Financial Officers since 2006. She is also a Member of the Financial Executives Network Group.
She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration in International Finance & Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Accounting Minor from City University of New York-Queens College.
