Michael Furgang has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael started their career as an intern and web developer at Telos Corporation, where they worked on web design and maintenance for the United States House of Representatives. Michael also gained experience as a web application developer and project manager at Theglobe.com. In 2001, Michael worked as an IT contractor for the New York State Education Department and as an IT consultant for isConsilium, Inc. Later, in 2004, they joined CHA Consulting, Inc. as the Vice President of Enterprise Systems & Development. Michael held this role until 2016 when they became the Vice President of Information Technology at the same company. Additionally, Michael served as an adjunct professor at The College of Saint Rose during 2006-2007.

Michael Furgang obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy from the University at Albany, SUNY, where they attended from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Science from Dean College, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. Later, Michael pursued a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems at The College of Saint Rose, which they completed from 2002 to 2005.
