Starting out as a manufacturing / FMCG supply chain consultant after receiving an MEng in Manufacturing at Cambridge University, Tristan’s interest in the world of commodities and physical supply chains was born. He then pursued an MSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, focusing on commodity pricing. This was followed by a research fellowship at Imperial College – looking at how to apply AI to “noisy” data sets. Prior to founding ChAI, Tristan worked as an algorithmic trader at hedge fund Aspect Capital and investment bank UBS as well as leadership roles in several start ups.
