Garry Ing

Garry Ing has a diverse background in product design, with experience in various companies and organizations. Their most recent role is as a Product Designer at Chainguard, where they started in January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Sessional Instructor at OCAD University starting in July 2018. Garry also worked as a Senior Product Designer at VMware from April 2020 to December 2022, and at Pivotal Software, Inc. from May 2019 to April 2020.

Before joining these companies, Garry held positions as a Product Manager and Product Designer at Format.com from November 2017 to April 2019, and as a Designer at Synbiota Inc. from September 2014 to April 2015. Garry also worked as a Designer at Normative from June 2012 to September 2014.

In addition to their industry experience, Garry has research and teaching experience. Garry worked as a Design Research Associate at the University of Toronto from August 2009 to August 2014, specializing in Technologies for Aging Gracefully. Garry also served as a Workshop Instructor at the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) from December 2009 to April 2013, and as a Research Assistant at the Strategic Innovation Lab (sLab) of Ontario College of Art & Design from April 2009 to April 2010.

Garry Ing completed a Bachelor of Design (BDes) degree in Graphic Design from OCAD University. Garry attended the university from 2005 to 2009.
