Ville Aikas has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Ville is the founder of Chainguard, Inc since October 2021. Prior to this, Ville worked as a Senior Staff Engineer at VMware from November 2019 to September 2021. Ville had a long tenure at Google, starting as a Software Engineer in November 2007. At Google, Ville held various positions including being the founder and later a tech lead and manager of Google Cloud Storage from 2008-2014, as well as a tech lead/manager of Google Cloud Deployment Manager. Before joining Google, Ville was the owner of VA Systems, Inc from October 2003 to November 2007. Ville started their professional career as a Software Engineer at the University of Washington, where they worked from 2001 to 2007. Ville's initial role as a Software Architect was at Appliant, where they worked from 1997 to 2001.
