Nikolaos Xafenias

Nikolaos Xafenias is a Project Manager at Chalmers Industriteknik, specializing in Circular Economy since March 2023. Xafenias has extensive experience as an EU-funding expert with EU SME Support since September 2018 and has held multiple evaluator roles at Vinnova and the COST Association in 2024 and 2023. Previously, Xafenias served as a Research Advisor at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden until March 2023, and as a Project Leader and Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology from 2012 to 2020. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Water Remediation Engineering from the University of Southampton, a Diploma in Decision Support Systems from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, an MSc in Geoinformatics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a degree in Environmental Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace.
