ChalupSki Surfskis – Built from a Lifetime on the Ocean

ChalupSki Surfskis represents the culmination of more than five decades of paddling, racing, coaching and surfski design. My journey with surfski design began when I was 14 years old in 1976, when I built my first ski. Since then the ocean has been my classroom, teaching me what truly works when a surfski meets real ocean conditions.

Throughout my career including 12 Molokai World Championship victories every race, downwind run and coaching session helped shape my understanding of how a surfski should perform. Those lessons now form the foundation of the ChalupSki range.

The philosophy behind ChalupSki is simple: design surfskis that help paddlers unlock their best performance while making the sport more accessible.

Many surfskis today are designed mainly for elite racers, but most paddlers simply want to enjoy the ocean while improving their skills. Stability, glide and confidence are essential. When paddlers feel comfortable and balanced, they paddle better, catch more runs and spend more time on the water.

The ChalupSki range supports paddlers at every stage of their journey. The Tarifa (5.3m x 55cm) is a true beginner surfski designed for exceptional stability and easy glide. The Waikiki (5.2m x 53cm) provides excellent balance and speed for beginner and intermediate paddlers. The Maui (5.4m x 51cm) offers greater performance for developing paddlers, while the Molokai (5.6m x 47cm) delivers race-inspired performance with the control needed for real ocean conditions.

All ChalupSki surfskis are produced at the Pei Sheng factory at Thousand Island Lake, using advanced pre-preg carbon and autoclave technology similar to Formula 1 manufacturing, creating skis that are extremely light, strong and consistent in quality.
