James Robinson

James Robinson is currently an Advisor at the Chamber of Digital Commerce. Prior to that, they worked as a Tax Specialist/Assistant to the Tax Commissioner for Columbus Consolidated Government from January 2012 to December 2016. In that role, they were responsible for reviewing and analyzing revenue collection from property, motor vehicle, and mobile home ad-valorem taxes. James also monitored, researched, and analyzed state legislation and its effects on tax collections, as well as the impact on city and school operating budget and operating funds. Additionally, they planned and executed trend analysis and revenue projects to determine financial and socio­economic indicators; performed analysis of operating positions and utilized forecasting models and statistical techniques. James also prepared and processed purchase documents, general accounting expenditures, and service contracts including bank deposits in excess of five million dollars and preparation of the annual department budget. James kept current of relevant state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances for departmental policy including sales tax codes and exemptions, use tax, and similar regulations. James used NeoGov to track new applicants, schedule, and interview for open positions. James also coordinated staff meetings, training, and events. Lastly, they were the administrative assistant to the Tax Commissioner, a county elected official.

James Robinson holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Columbus State University.
