Erich Hopkins

Erich Hopkins is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in law enforcement and sports coaching. Since February 2002, Erich has served as a Deputy Sheriff at the Champaign County Sheriffs Office. In the realm of athletics, Erich has been involved with Urbana High School since November 2019, taking on roles as the Assistant Varsity Football Coach - Defensive Coordinator, Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach, and Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach. Prior coaching experience includes a position as Assistant Football Coach at Urbana Junior High School from August 2017 to January 2020. Additionally, Erich was a partner at Champaign Sports Authority from July 2016 to November 2018, providing play-by-play sports coverage and maintaining a sports blog for Champaign County Sports. Erich holds a Bachelor's degree in History from Urbana University and a Police Academy certification from Clark State College.
