Research Technician at Champalimaud Foundation

Diogo Melo is a Research Technician at the Champalimaud Foundation within the Neuropsychiatry Unit, having held the position since February 2022. Previous experience includes a research rotation as a Visiting Student Researcher at the Neural Circuits Dysfunction lab, and a Master's thesis internship at the Tissue Engineering Laboratory at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT NOVA). In July 2019, Diogo Melo completed a research traineeship at the Neuropsychiatry Unit and the Neurobiology of Action Laboratory at the Champalimaud Foundation, focusing on dopamine-dependent activity related to obesity, where foundational neuroscience knowledge and animal experimentation techniques were acquired. Earlier experience includes a research traineeship at INEB within a group dedicated to bioengineered 3D microenvironments. Diogo Melo holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from FCT NOVA and is currently pursuing education at NOVA Medical School - Faculdade de Ciências Médicas.
