Garfield Monfries

Garfield Monfries has over twenty (20) years of industrial experience. Prior to joining Champion Controls, he spent nine (9) years performing business development for a leading manufacturer of redundant, high availability, plant automation products which are used for critical control and safety shutdown applications.

Before that, Mr. Monfries held project management positions for several companies in the oil/gas, refining, chemical, environmental and utility markets. He started out his career with Amoco (now BP), engineering production facilities used in oil exploration and production. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside EPC firms and contractors alike on executing large revamp contracts at several chemical plants in the US and abroad. In those positions, Mr. Monfries also supervised mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and control systems construction work and plant startup activities. He has also worked in the environmental and utility industries including recycle centers and nuclear and fossil power plants.

He has extensive experience with PLC, DCS and SIS hardware and HMI/SCADA software platforms. He understands how to implement solutions in the various IEC 61131 programming languages. Mr. Monfries also has practical knowledge of the ISA, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, & 10 CFR regulations.
