Carolina Arias

Carolina Arias currently serves as a Group Leader at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub since January 2022, focusing on the regulation of global viral gene expression in cells infected with Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) through next-generation sequencing tools. Prior to this role, Carolina Arias was an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara from January 2017 to December 2021 and conducted postdoctoral research at Novartis/UCSF from August 2011 to September 2016. Carolina Arias holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology from New York University, a Master's degree in Microbiology from Universidad de Los Andes, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Microbiology from the same institution.
