Genay Pilarowski

Genay Pilarowski is a scientist at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub since September 2022, with a diverse background in laboratory research and molecular diagnostics. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Laboratory Research at The Public Health Company and a postdoctoral research scientist at both Stanford University School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Genay's doctoral research at The Johns Hopkins University focused on immune characterization in Mendelian epigenetic disorders, involving advanced techniques such as flow cytometry and RNA-sequencing. Notable internships include clinical molecular diagnostics at PapGene, Inc. and research roles at Cleveland Clinic and Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. Genay holds a PhD in Human Genetics from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Biology from Whitman College.
