Catherine Madden

Catherine Madden is an experienced communications leader with a robust background in the education and media sectors. Currently serving as the Communications lead at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since June 2020, Catherine manages a variety of communications functions including media relations and thought leadership. Previously, Catherine held key roles such as Managing Director of Communications at Summit Learning and Senior Director of Communications at Summit Public Schools, where collaboration with Facebook and driving educational change were central to the role. With a foundation in journalism, Catherine has also worked as a journalist and producer for multiple media outlets, including Seven West Media and the BBC, and has developed strategic communications initiatives for startups like Saybubble. Catherine holds a BA Hons in Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University.
