Heidi Bjornson-Pennell

Heidi Bjornson-Pennell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both legal and program management roles. Currently serving as Senior Program Manager at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since January 2019, and previously as Program Manager and Patient Engagement Strategist within the organization, Heidi leads initiatives such as the Rare As One Network. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy State Public Defender in California and practicing as an attorney at Keker & Van Nest and as a barrister at esteemed chambers in the UK. Heidi's academic background includes a B.A. from Barnard College at Columbia University, various law qualifications from The University of Law and the Inns of Court School of Law, as well as a membership with The Honourable Society of Middle Temple.
