Jane Packer

Jane Packer is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in leading strategic communications and brand initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of Communications, Community at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since March 2022, Jane previously held various senior roles at the YMCA of San Francisco from March 2006 to April 2022, including Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Brand Strategy. Noteworthy achievements include implementing a strategic communications plan during the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing brand positioning with the slogan “Here for Good,” and launching the “Membership for All” program. Jane's career also includes roles at the Public Policy Institute of California and the Presidio Trust, as well as serving as a Special Assistant to United States Senator Barbara Boxer. Jane holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of California, Davis, and has furthered education through initiatives focused on survival and leadership.
