Scott Fraser

President, Chan-zuckerberg Imaging Institute at Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

Scott Fraser currently serves as the Vice President of Science Grant Programs at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since February 2024. In addition, Fraser is a co-founder of arcoris bio AG, Kulia Labs, and Camena Bioscience, and held the role of Director at USC Bridge Institute until February 2024. Fraser has been with the University of Southern California since 2012, holding multiple titles including Elizabeth Garrett Professor of Convergent Bioscience, Provost Professor of Biology & Biomedical Engineering, and Director of Science Initiatives. Prior to these roles, Fraser was a co-founder of Varocto Inc. and served in various academic positions at Caltech from 1991 to 2012, including Anna L Rosen Professor of Biology and Engineering & Applied Science and founding director of several research centers. Fraser began an academic career as a Professor of Physiology and Biophysics at UC Irvine from 1980 to 1991. Education includes a Ph.D. in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Harvey Mudd College.
