Trent Smith

Trent Smith is a skilled software engineer with experience in cloud environments and data coordination. Currently employed at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since February 2019, Trent contributes to the Human Cell Atlas Data Coordination Platform, facilitating global scientific data sharing utilizing Google and AWS. Prior experience includes serving as a software developer and scrum master at the UCSC Genomics Institute, where Trent implemented scrum methodologies and worked on a cross-cloud data storage platform. Additionally, at HP Enterprise Security Services, Trent developed a Python interpreter for a new scripting language to enhance crypto testing. Earlier roles include providing technical support as a student assistant at San Jose State University and customer service as a Counter Intelligence Agent at Best Buy. Trent holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from San José State University and previously completed general education in Biology at De Anza College.
