Tommy Sweeney

Tommy Sweeney has over 28 years of work experience in the software and technology industry. Tommy began their career in 1993 as a Contract Engineer at AMT Limited - NUIG. In 1994, they moved to AST Computers Ireland Limited as a New Product Introduction Project Manager, Desktop Products and Product Engineer - Business Desktops, and Senior Manufacturing Engineer. From 1998 to 2002, they worked at Nortel Networks as a Test Prime, Software Verification Group - Commercial Operations and Program Manager, New Product Introduction. Tommy then joined ADC Telecommunications Software - Solutions Division in 2002 as a Senior Software Test Engineer. From 2004 to 2017, they worked at Avaya as a Senior Software Test Engineer, Global IT QA. Tommy is currently a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst at Planet, a role they have held since 2017. Tommy is also a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Channel Mechanics since 2022.

Tommy Sweeney completed their high school education at Saint Josephs College Galway, earning their Leaving Certificate in 1986. Tommy then attended University of Galway, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems in 1990. Tommy continued their studies at the same university, earning a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems - Design and Analysis in 1992. Additionally, Tommy Sweeney has obtained several certifications, including TOSCA Automation Specialist Level 2 and TOSCA Automation Specialist for API from Tricentis in 2021, TOSCA Automation Specialist Level 1 from Tricentis in 2019, ISTQB Certificate in Software Testing - Foundation Level - 2003 from Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB), ISTQB Certificate in Software Testing - Foundation Level - 2012 from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board, and ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level Extension, Agile Tester - 2016 from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
