Janine Smith has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media and entertainment industry. Janine is currently working as the Digital Content Director at Channel 4, where they co-founded the 4Studio center for digital content and production. Janine is also involved in various industry events and initiatives as a judge, guest lecturer, and sponsor.
Prior to Channel 4, Janine worked at ITV as the Head of Digital for Entertainment, Comedy, and Drama. In this role, they led teams in multiple locations and was responsible for developing and executing the digital strategy for major TV brands such as Love Island, The Voice UK, and Coronation Street.
Janine also had a sabbatical period during which they traveled in South America and Antarctica, and engaged in freelance work involving social creative, project planning, and content strategy for companies like Netflix and Channel 4 Television.
Janine'sprevious experience includes roles at Ogilvy, Zodiak Media, Starcom MediaVest Group, Que Pasa Communications, yahoo!, Channel 4 Television, and Flextech Interactive. Throughout their career, Janine has demonstrated expertise in digital content, strategy, branding, and product development, working with a wide range of global clients.
Janine Smith received a BSc Hons in Biological Sciences from Edinburgh Napier University in the years 1991 to 1995. Janine also obtained a Diploma in Management from the Chartered Institute of Management in the years 2004 to 2005. Additionally, they hold a Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute.
