Naomi Mwasambili

Naomi Mwasambili has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Naomi currently serves as a member of the Global Advisory Board for the NIHR Global Health Unit on the Prevention and Management of Stillbirths and Neonatal Deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. In this role, they contribute to the goal of ending preventable stillbirths and newborn deaths in various African, Asian, and UK-based research partnerships.

Naomi is also the CEO and Co-founder of Chanua, an innovation agency focused on solving challenges in Health, Mental Health, and Education. Through collaborations with entrepreneurs, experts, and healthcare organizations, they create ventures and develops solutions in these fields.

As the Managing Director of Livy Africa, a manufacturing and research social business, Naomi is dedicated to the production and development of ethical products and services. Livy Africa aims to become a leading research and development organization in natural health, beauty, eco-tourism, and ethical food produce.

As a Co-Founder of Neuro Champions, an educational technology and games development company, Naomi champions brain, neuroscience, and mental health education. Through innovative learning programs and games, they support young people between the ages of 8-25 in their cognitive development.

Additionally, Naomi has held roles as a FabLab Resident at Liverpool John Moores University, where they worked on innovation projects in various industries, and as an Entrepreneur in Residence at London South Bank University, providing mentorship and support to students and graduates in entrepreneurship, innovation, health, and social enterprises.

Naomi has also served as an Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London, where they provided tutoring and support to postgraduate students in the field of creative and cultural entrepreneurship. Naomi has contributed their expertise as a Board Trustee and Grants Committee Trustee Representative at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to create positive social change.

Furthermore, Naomi has co-founded MyGuvu, a digital health product under Chanua Health, which serves as an online wellbeing platform connecting individuals with various health and wellbeing services.

Throughout their career, Naomi has also been involved in mentoring and lecturing roles, including serving as a Visiting Lecturer/Mentor at the University of Liverpool.

Naomi Mwasambili's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at the University of Liverpool and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2006. In 2009, they pursued further education at the same university and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence Based Psychological Therapies, which they completed in 2010.

Continuing their academic journey, Naomi joined the University of Liverpool once again in 2016 and spent three years working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychological Science. Naomi successfully completed their PhD in 2019.

Alongside their university education, Naomi also pursued various certifications and programs. In 2011, they obtained a Certificate in Global Mental Health from King's College London. That same year, they also achieved a City and Guilds qualification in PTTLS from City Lit.

Naomi's interest in social enterprise led their to participate in the Social Enterprise Fellowship at The School for Social Entrepreneurs in 2012. Additionally, they engaged in an Introduction to Enterprise Mentoring program at Get Mentoring during the same year.

To expand their skillset further, Naomi enrolled in a Gamification Training program offered by Sentenia Games at the University of Buffalo in 2018, which resulted in their earning a Gamification Certificate.

Aside from their formal education, Naomi acquired additional certifications. In 2012, they completed PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training from The Knowledge Academy. In 2020, they obtained the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
