Gavin Hood has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Co-Founder and CEO of CHAOS. Prior to this, they worked at Palantir Technologies as the Head of Global Business Development and Operations for nearly a decade, from 2012 to 2021. Before that, they served as the Chief Legal-Policy Counsel at the British Embassy from 2009 to 2012. Gavin also worked at the UK Security and Intelligence Agencies as the Principal Legal Counsel during the same period. In the early 2000s, they held positions at the International Criminal Court (ICC), the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Gavin started their career as a Senior Human Rights Investigator at the Human Rights Department of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK Pillar III). Prior to that, they worked as a Legal-Policy Adviser at UNHCR/IBHI and as a Barrister at 18 Red Lion Court.
Gavin Hood's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Law with First Class Honors from the University of Hertfordshire. Additionally, they pursued a Barrister's Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. Gavin also completed the LLM International and European Legal Studies program at Durham University. Lastly, Gavin participated in the Yale World Fellow Program at Yale University.
