Greg Benedis-Grab has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and leadership roles. Starting in 1998, they worked as a Software Engineer at Bloomberg LP. In 2001, they became the Science Department Chair at East Harlem School @ Exodus House. From 2003 to 2017, Greg worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Bank Street College and taught graduate-level methods courses for Pre-K to 6th grade school science teachers. Furthermore, they worked as an Education Consultant in their self-employed role starting from 2003. In 2005, Greg joined Columbia University as the Founder and Director of Teach21, a professional development program. Additionally, they served as the Lead Science Teacher, contributing significantly to K-8 science curriculum development and documentation. In 2008, Greg took on the role of Science Content Specialist Consultant at The College Board, co-developing science standards and frameworks. In 2013, they became the Program Manager at Stevens Institute of Technology CIESE, supervising a STEM education grant. Greg also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College, teaching a graduate science methods course for elementary and middle school teachers. Greg'smost recent role is as the CTO and Founder of Chapperone, a position they have held since March 2020. Throughout their career, Greg has showcased their expertise in technology, education, and leadership, developing and implementing innovative programs and initiatives.
Greg Benedis-Grab began their education at Haverford College from 1991 to 1995, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics & Sociology. Following this, from 2000 to 2001, they attended Bank Street College of Education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education. Greg then went on to pursue further studies at Teachers College, Columbia University, from 2006 to 2013, where they achieved an Ed D degree in Science Education.
