At Chapter One, we transform children’s futures with 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

For over 30 years, Chapter One has been transforming children’s futures by providing one-to-one support to help them learn to read. Our nonprofit provides schools in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom with a sustainable, supplemental program that can scale to all kindergarten through second grade students.

More than 200 incredible corporations and businesses have partnered with Chapter One to provide more than 5,000 online reading volunteers for our students. These volunteers connect with their students each week for a 30 minute, remote reading session.

The Tutoring and Education team at Chapter One US consists of dedicated Early Literacy Interventionists and High-impact Tutors who provide personalized, one-on-one reading support to kindergarten through second grade students across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. These team members work remotely or in schools to deliver targeted literacy interventions, ensuring that each student receives the individualized attention they need to improve their reading skills and transform their educational futures.
