Scot Hester

Scot Hester has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Scot most recently worked as the SVP of Service Operations and Engineering at Chargie, starting in June 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Global Service Operations at Amazon from November 2019 to June 2022.

Before their time at Amazon, Scot worked at Boingo Wireless for over a decade. Scot held the position of Vice President of Network Operations within Boingo's Engineering Organization, where they were responsible for the company's Data Center and IT network operations and infrastructure. Scot also served as the Director of Aggregated Network Engineering, leading a global team that integrated and maintained Boingo's Roaming Wi-Fi services over 150 partnered networks. Additionally, Scot worked as a Roaming Network Operations Engineer during their tenure at Boingo.

Prior to Boingo Wireless, Scot worked at EarthLink as a Senior Staff Field Engineer and West Regional Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the design, installation, and optimization of municipal Wi-Fi networks. Scot also served as a Senior Cable Manager in the Product group, overseeing the deployment and quality assurance of EarthLink High-Speed Cable offerings.

At the beginning of their career, Scot worked at Reflex Communications as a Field Service Engineer and Installation Manager. Scot played a key role in planning, designing, and executing MDU community cable plant and head end buildouts.

Overall, Scot Hester has extensive experience in service operations, engineering, network operations, and wireless communications across multiple organizations.

Scot Hester's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science Information Systems from California State University, Fullerton, which they attended from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended San Diego State University from 1994 to 1996 but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study.

In addition to their formal education, Scot Hester has obtained several certifications. Scot became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through (ISC)² in January 2019.
