Michael Thatcher

Michael Thatcher serves as the President and CEO of Charity Navigator since 2015, directing efforts to facilitate informed philanthropic decisions through tools and ratings for donors and charities. Additionally, Michael holds advisory roles at B Generous and SparkHabits, while contributing as a board member for Giving Gap, focusing on advancing racial equity in charitable giving. Previous experience includes serving on the Board of Trustees at Keystone Accountability and holding various technology leadership positions at Microsoft, including CTO for Public Sector in Asia and the Middle East Africa. Michael's early career includes roles at Sea-Bird Electronics and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Columbia University, obtained in 1989.
