Hannah Matthews

Hannah Matthews serves as the Water Programs Senior Manager at charity: water, overseeing a portfolio of approximately $5.5 million and managing partnerships with seven NGOs in Uganda and Tanzania. Previously, Hannah held various roles within charity: water, including Water Programs Manager and Water Programs Senior Associate. In 2024, Hannah transitioned to academia as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University, co-teaching a course on Engineering for Community Development. Other professional experience includes serving as Special Projects Coordinator at Child Mind Institute and as a Water and Sanitation Engineer with the Peace Corps, where Hannah enhanced local water systems and trained community leaders. Early career experience includes roles at the University of Vermont Admissions and the Town of Essex Department of Public Works, focusing on stormwater management strategies. Hannah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont.
