The Charles Koch Foundation was established in 1980 by Charles G. Koch in order to advance social progress and well-being through the study and advancement of economic freedom. Through the Foundation’s history, it has supported the study of economic freedom through grant giving and support for professional education programs. Through its giving, the Foundation primarily supports research and higher education programs that analyze the impact of free societies, in particular how they advance the well-being of mankind. Building on this knowledge, the Charles Koch Foundation fosters the partnership of scientists and practitioners in order to integrate theory and practice. By doing so, the Foundation strives to develop market-based tools that enable individuals, institutions, and societies to survive and prosper.
