Irene Mancini

Irene Mancini is an experienced professional in the fields of biotechnology and molecular biology, currently serving as Group Lead - Operations at Charles River Laboratories since January 2019. Previous roles at Charles River include Lab Manager, Site Optimization Lead, Associate Group Leader & Lab Manager, and Senior Scientist. Prior to this, Irene held the position of Head of Research at Amarna Therapeutics B.V., focusing on developing therapeutics utilizing simian polyomavirus 40 for gene therapy across various indications such as Leber Congenital Amaurosis and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Irene's background includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Università degli Studi di Ferrara and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the same institution, complemented by a Visiting PhD program at Cornell University. Early career experiences include roles as a Pharmacist and Research Scientist, contributing to the development of novel anti-inflammatory therapies and the application of viral vectors in medical treatments.
