Peter Morgan is Managing Director, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for The Charles Schwab Corporation, responsible for the Company’s legal department and its corporate governance and government affairs functions.

Morgan began his career at Schwab in 1999, most recently serving as the head of the bank regulatory legal group where he served as general counsel to the Company’s subsidiary banks and trust companies. Morgan also led the regulatory liaison office which facilitates the interactions between the Company and its prudential supervisors. Morgan had previously served as legal counsel to the Company’s brokerage operations, electronic brokerage and wireless business units.

Before joining Schwab, Morgan served as counsel with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP, and Keesal, Young & Logan in San Francisco. He began his legal career by serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the County of Santa Cruz, CA.

Morgan received a J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College. He is admitted to practice law in California, Nevada, New York and Connecticut.
