David Willetts

David Willetts is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in defense and media. Currently serving as Director at Charlesbye since June 2025, Willetts previously held the position of Director of Communications and Digital at the Betting and Gaming Council from March 2022 to June 2025. Prior experience includes serving as Press Secretary to the Defence Secretary and Deputy Head of News and External Communications at the UK Ministry of Defence from March 2020 to March 2022. Willetts spent over a decade at News UK, where roles included Defence Editor, Deputy Defence Editor, and Defence Correspondent at The Sun. Early career experience includes positions as News Reporter at Ferrari Press Agency and Caters. Willetts earned a degree from the University of Portsmouth between 1999 and 2002.
