Karla J. Manzanares, Esq. is an experienced immigration attorney currently serving at the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and as a Justice Fellow with the Immigrant Justice Corps, both positions held since September 2023. Previously, Karla worked as a Student Attorney at the Immigrant Justice Clinic, where direct representation of clients in asylum and naturalization cases was provided. Karla's legal career includes roles as a Summer Legal Intern at the New York Legal Assistance Group, a Legal Extern at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, and a Summer Legal Intern at Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington. In addition to legal work, Karla has teaching experience, having taught English at Sahmyook Language School and served as a Student Director at Berry College, where leadership and management skills were developed. Karla holds a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Berry College.
