Stefanie Groot

Stefanie Groot is an experienced grant writer and administrator at Legal Services of Southern Piedmont, having held this position since September 2011. In this role, Stefanie conducts research and writes grants to support the organization, manages grant reports, maintains a master grant calendar, and provides guidance on grants-related matters while also contributing to public relations and marketing efforts. Prior experience includes work as a PR contractor from 2002 to 2006, consulting on various PR and marketing projects, and serving as PR manager for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross from 1998 to 2002, where responsibilities included media relations and community awareness events. Additionally, Stefanie was the Director of Communications for the Mecklenburg County Medical Society from 1996 to 1998, overseeing communications and public relations for the medical association. Stefanie holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and English from William & Mary.
