Karl Hoffman

Karl Hoffman has extensive experience in technical theater, currently serving as the Technical Director and Theater Manager at Charlotte Country Day School since August 2004. In this role, Karl provides lighting, scenic and audio design, and oversees technical production for over 14 school productions annually, while also managing multiple competing events in a theater that caters to a student body of over 1600. Prior to this, Karl held various positions in the industry, including Stagehand, Rigger, and Electrician with IATSE 322 since 1986, Technical Director at the NC Blumenthal Performing Arts Center from 1992 to 2004, and Master Carpenter at Opera Carolina from 1984 to 1992. Karl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from Kenyon College, earned between 1978 and 1982.
