Brittany Maxwell

Brittany Maxwell serves as the Executive Director of the Southeast Learning Community for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, overseeing 20 schools since July 2012. With a strong background in educational leadership, Brittany has previously held roles as Principal and Assistant Principal, leading significant initiatives at schools with high percentage of Limited English Proficient students. Notable accomplishments include implementing Balanced Literacy programs that resulted in substantial reading score increases at Title I schools, as well as serving on the Advisory Board for First Book-Charlotte to promote literacy among low-income children. Brittany's teaching experience spans both Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Union County Public Schools, contributing to significant literacy improvement and the development of individualized instruction strategies. Brittany holds a Master’s degree in School Administration from Queens University of Charlotte and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University.
