Darrell J. Potts

Darrell J. Potts, Ed.D, currently serves as the School Principal for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since November 2022, focusing on improving student achievement and fostering a college-going culture. Potts has been a National Staff Developer for AVID Center since April 2015, presenting at conferences and guiding educators in implementing college readiness strategies. Previous roles include School Principal at Anson County Schools, where efforts concentrated on enhancing student performance in Math and Science post-COVID, and extensive experience in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as Assistant Principal and Dean of Students, emphasizing instructional leadership and professional development. Potts holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, along with multiple advanced degrees in education and teaching.
