Elyse Dashew has extensive experience in educational leadership and community service, particularly within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. As Chair of the Board of Education from 2015 to 2019, Elyse led the passage of a historic $3.5 billion school construction bond. Elyse has served in various capacities, including Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Municipal Education Advisory Committee. Current roles include member of the Charlotte Advisory Committee for North Carolina Outward Bound School and member of the Board of Directors for the Council of the Great City Schools, where Elyse chaired a task force focused on achievement gaps and professional development. Additionally, Elyse has served on the boards of organizations such as DreamKey Partners and GenerationNation, demonstrating a commitment to affordable housing and civic education. Elyse holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Brown University.
