Nathan Currie

Nathan Currie, Ed.D. has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as Principal for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since September 2021. Prior to this role, Currie was Principal at Cumberland County Schools, where a virtual school was founded and led. From 2014 to 2020, Currie held the position of Founder & Superintendent at North Carolina Cyber Academy, and previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Administration/Athletics within the Rowan-Salisbury Schools system. Currie's experience also includes a role as Director of Middle Schools & Special Programs at Duplin County Schools, overseeing support for sixteen schools, and previous positions as Assistant Principal at North Rowan Middle School and elementary school teacher. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from High Point University, a Master of Education from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Education from Livingstone College.
