Brett Smith (MBA,APRM) has a diverse work experience, beginning with their service in the United States Air Force from 2003 to 2011. During this time, they served as a Team Chief/Armament Specialist, overseeing a technician crew of four and achieving quality assurance and control compliance, organizing computer, electronic and mechanical system maintenance functions and repairs.
In 2011, Smith began working at Wells Fargo as an IT Support Analyst, executing hardware and software installations and providing customer care, training, and technical support as the primary point of contact for the help desk. Brett also piloted cost-effective training and support solutions that streamlined operations and allowed quicker access to data, as well as expedited the installation of a closed-circuit camera.
At the same time, Smith also began working at Cassidy Turley as a Service Technician II, maintaining IT desktop support for a team of 100+ associates in the property management, brokerage, and marketing departments. Brett researched and resolved imaging defects caused by a file zipping utility that prevented 3,000+ users from sending attachments via email, implementing a fix within four hours.
In 2013, Smith founded Charlotte UAV, a fully licensed and insured SDVOSB drone services provider and robotics manufacturer located in Charlotte, NC. Brett recruited and managed a team of 11 executive-level aviation, cybersecurity, and mobile technology professionals in the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) drone industry. Brett also worked at Intelligent Buildings, LLC as a Small Building Industry Expert, providing planning and execution management of next generation strategy for new building projects, existing portfolio optimization and smart community development.
Brett Smith holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, where they studied Information Technology Project Management from 2010 to 2011. Brett also earned an Associate of Science in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force, Dyess Air Force from 2006 to 2007. In addition, Smith is Level II Certified Themographer from ITC (obtained in December 2018), holds a UAS Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (obtained in September 2016), is an APRM® from the International Organization for Project Management® (IO4PM®), is an ASPRS, and has a Pix4Dmapper Fundamentals certification from Pix4D.
