Prior roles include Senior Vice President at Bank of America, where Gates facilitated technology integration during mergers, and Senior Consultant at Keane, Inc., providing critical business solutions across various sectors. An alumnus of Vanderbilt University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Gates has also completed several leadership and technology programs at prestigious institutions, including the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and the Center for Creative Leadership.

CharlotteCIO is one of 40+ chapters in the Inspire Leadership Network, a national membership organization comprised exclusively of CIOs from public and private businesses, government, education, healthcare, and nonprofit institutions. CharlotteCIO exists to help CIOs thrive in today’s most challenging C-suite executive role. The chapter regularly convenes leading CIOs and fosters meaningful relationships by hosting non-commercial, member-led programs—helping CIOs gain leadership advantage. We create opportunities for technology leaders to engage in substantive, issues-based discussion related to their industries and profession. Members benefit by collaborating with others, building meaningful relationships, and promoting professional development through executive events that facilitate valuable interaction among senior-level experts. MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION Members must be an Charlotte-based CIO or equivalent senior technology leader for an organization with at least $100 million annual revenue. Organizations over $1 billion qualify for a second membership and organizations over $5 billion may enroll a third member – provided the organization’s primary technology leader is a member in good standing. ABOUT THE ORBIE AWARDS The ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, over 500 technology leaders have received the prestigious ORBIE Award.
