Sam Kessel M.D.

Sam Kessel MD, MBA is an experienced professional in the fields of medicine, consulting, and investment. Currently serving as an Associate at Locust Walk since July 2023, Sam also co-leads the Nucleate Podcast and mentors various startups through Nucleate, providing guidance on indication selection, pitch deck development, and financing strategies. As a Medical Advisor for the Southwest Angel Network and an Associate at both the Charlottesville Angel Network and CAV Angels, Sam offers valuable insights on medical-related startups. Previous roles include Senior Life Sciences Consultant and Life Sciences Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, and Resident Doctor at The University of Texas at Austin. Sam's academic background includes an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Tufts University.
