Felipe Rivas, Ph.D., MS, currently serves as a Single-Use Research and Development Engineer II at Charter Medical, LLC, where Rivas leads the development of single-use plastic cryopreservation bio-containers and has successfully launched the product within two years. Rivas previously worked as a Biomedical Research Scientist at Wake Forest University, where Rivas developed a novel assay for detecting Hyaluronic Acid and secured substantial NIH funding. Additional experience includes roles in business development at Wake Forest Innovations, product management at Cook Medical, mechanical engineering at Conmed Corporation, and research and development at Boston Scientific. Rivas holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
