Micheal Cortez

Micheal Cortez, MS has a diverse background in information technology and maintenance. Micheal currently holds the position of Sr. Director of Information Technology at Charter School Associates, where they have been since February 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of IT Operations at the same company from August 2022 to February 2023. From June 2018 to August 2022, Micheal worked as the Information Technology Service Manager at Charter School Associates. Before joining Charter School Associates, Micheal gained experience as an Information Systems Coordinator at Cambridge Security Services Corp from February 2018 to June 2018. Micheal also served as an IT Helpdesk Support Level II at Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science from April 2017 to February 2018. Prior to their transition to the IT field, Micheal worked as an Information Technology Helpdesk Support at the City of Fort Lauderdale from September 2016 to April 2017. Their earlier experience includes a role as a Maintenance Supervisor at Tremron Group from August 2015 to December 2015. Micheal began their career as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Craftsman in the United States Air Force, where they worked from July 2009 to July 2015.

Michael Cortez, MS has a Master's degree in Cyber Security from Florida International University, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Broward College between 2015 and 2017. Their educational journey began in 2012 at the Community College of the Air Force, where they acquired an Associate's Degree in Military Technologies and Applied Sciences, which they completed in 2013. In addition to their degrees, Michael has also obtained several certifications. In 2017, they received Network+ and Security+ certifications from CompTIA. In 2010, they obtained the EPA 608 Type I, II, III, and Universal certification from the US Environmental Protection Agency. Lastly, Michael has a CIW Web Foundations Associate certification from Certification Partners.
