Marin Smith

Marin Smith is currently a copywriter at Charter School Capital, Inc. Prior to that, they were a lecturer at California Polytechnic State University from September 2013 to June 2022. In that role, they coached students on the importance of rhetorical appeals and foundations of research. Marin was also involved in juggling several projects at once, including tracking success and providing individualized feedback. Marin emphasized content, development of ideas, stylistics, mechanics, and organizational strategies in their lectures. Marin also has experience with in-depth LMS implementation and utilization.

From January 2017 to March 2017, Marin was the faculty section editor at Byzantium, where they collected, compiled, sorted, read, evaluated, edited, and submitted writing for print publication.

Before that, Marin was an online writing support specialist at CSU Early Start from June 2014 to August 2014. In that role, they provided online support to people entering the CSU system using LMS. Marin built detailed and individualized online relationships and provided feedback.

Marrin has also been an ESOL coach at Nihon University College of Bioresource from April 2013 to July 2013.

Finally, Marin was a writing consultant at California Polytechnic State University Writing and Rhetoric Center from January 2013 to June 2015.

Marin Smith has a Master's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters from Texas A&M University. Marin also has certification from TEFL International in TEFL.
