Felipe Lopes has an extensive background in engineering and project management. Felipe began their career at Mitsubishi Electric as a Visiting Research Engineer, where they worked on various kaizen projects and conducted research on alternative energy sources. Felipe then moved on to Gerdau, where they held multiple leadership positions, including General Manager of Engineering Processes and Capital Projects for Gerdau's Long Products Brazil Division and General Manager of Engineering Processes and Capital Investments for Gerdau's Specialty Steel Brazil Division. In these roles, Felipe was responsible for overseeing capital projects, implementing project management methodologies, and managing budgets and teams. Felipe also worked as the Chief Engineer & Environmental Manager at the Charqueadas mill, leading a major program to update the mill and increase production capacity. Most recently, Felipe served as the Director of Engineering at Charter Steel, where they provided technical expertise, managed capital prioritization and spending, and collaborated with operational and automation leaders to drive plant improvements. Throughout their career, Felipe has consistently achieved significant cost savings and improved operational efficiency through their strategic leadership.

Felipe Lopes has a diverse education history, starting with their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, which they completed between 1980 and 1985. Felipe then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Muroran Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1991.

In 2000 to 2002, Felipe studied Business Administration and Management, General at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Following that, they obtained an MBA from Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa from 2006 to 2008, specializing in Business Administration.
