Jeff Richards

Jeff Richards is an experienced professional in the steel and automotive industries, currently serving as Plant Manager for Melting at Charter Steel since May 2011, with a range of previous roles including Process Development Manager and Rolling Operations Manager. With a career that began at Charter Steel in 1997, Jeff managed the construction and startup of a greenfield steel processing plant in Fostoria, OH, and played a key role in the acquisition and startup of another facility in Centerline, MI. Prior to joining Charter Steel, Jeff held various positions at Charter Automotive, overseeing global operations, and at Charter Wire, focusing on quality assurance and process engineering. Jeff's career also includes experience at Akrosil, a division of International Paper, as a team manager and process engineer. Jeff earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota between 1987 and 1990.
