Chris Banyay

Chris Banyay has extensive work experience in the banking and mortgage industry. Chris is currently serving as the Vice President/Mortgage Sales Manager at CharterWest Bank since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Core Bank from 2016 to 2022 as the Vice President/Lending Manager.

Chris also worked at PrimeLending as a Branch Manager from 2011 to 2016, where they were responsible for establishing new mortgage origination offices and driving mortgage volume growth. Before that, they served as a Branch Manager/AVP at BANK OF AMERICA from 2004 to 2011, managing branch operations and sales personnel in Nebraska.

Chris has held various leadership roles earlier in their career as well. Chris worked as the Vice President/Corporate Production Manager at Commercial Federal Bank from 1998 to 2004, overseeing residential mortgage production for a nine-state region. Chris also served as the President and CEO of Liberty Mortgage Store, Inc. from 1997 to 1998, where they developed the mortgage banking operation of a bank holding company.

Before that, Chris held positions such as Vice President/Dept. Manager at LIBERTY BANK & TRUST from 1995 to 1997, Mortgage Loan Originator at NORTH AMERICAN MORTGAGE COMPANY from 1993 to 1995, and Branch Manager/Assistant Treasurer at State Savings Bank from 1986 to 1993.

Chris Banyay has a Master's degree in Business Administration, which they obtained from Ashland University between 1988 and 1991. Prior to that, they attended The College of Wooster from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business/Managerial Economics. Additionally, they have an Ice Machine Committee certification from Core Bank, obtained in September 2021.
