Kevin Delaney

Cofounder, CEO, Editor in chief at Charter

Kevin Delaney has extensive work experience in the media industry. In 1994, they started their career as a Producer at World Affairs Television, where they worked until 1995. Kevin then moved on to work as a Producer at Wall Street Journal Television / WBIS+ from 1996 to 1998. Following this, they worked as a Staff Reporter at SmartMoney Magazine in 1998. In 1999, they joined The Wall Street Journal as a Senior Special Writer, covering various technology topics. Kevin was later promoted to Senior Deputy Managing Editor in 2008, and then to Managing Editor of WSJ.com in 2010. In 2012, they became the Editor in chief, cofounder, and co-CEO of Quartz, a business news website, where they worked until 2019. During their time at Quartz, they won the Online Journalism Award for Commentary for leading the America We Need project as part of the Opinion team at The New York Times from December 2019 to September 2020. In 2020, they joined The Information as a Senior Editor, and later that year, they co-founded Charter, a future-of-work media and research company, where they currently serve as the CEO and Editor in chief.

Kevin Delaney completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Yale University, which they attended from 1990 to 1994. Prior to that, they attended Regis High School from 1986 to 1990. In 2020, they also earned a certificate in Management Essentials from Harvard Business School Online.
